Early Spring Butterflies

Recently I've been seeing a few species of butterflies. No doubt due to the warm weather. A few days ago I saw a Cabbage White and an Eastern Comma (photos from last year).

Today there seemed to be a large movement of the migratory Red Admiral. I estimated somewhere around 18 or 20. The same winds that seem to have brought in the birds have evidently brought in the leps with them!

On a side note, there is an active goose nest at my local park and I saw my first Ruby-crowned Kinglets and Double-crested Cormorants of the year (in Ontario) today. The DCCO were seen at my local park, bringing the Virginia Park list up to 70. Not bad for an area of about one square kilometer.
