Some Springbank Photos

Yesterday I went on a short walk in Springbank Park. I managed to catch up with a few ducks that have been frequenting the river this winter, along with a very photogenic Northern Cardinal. I also encountered my first Cackling Goose of the year.

The day was spent travelling from The Soo to Thunder Bay, making a few stops along the way to enjoy the scenery. Wildlife today included White-tailed Deer, Red Fox, and Moose. No Violet-green Swallow yet, but I'll be going again in the morning. There is a music festival on right now, but I don't think it is affecting the birds.

The day ahead is going to be jam packed!

French River Photos

Here are some photos taken at the French River Visitor Center south of Sudbury. I am a day into the five day trek up to Thunder Bay and back. Tomorrow (or today by the time many will read this), I'll arrive in Thunder Bay and start looking for the Violet-green Swallow.

Hopefully I'll have some good news when I report again soon.
